CATCO will open its 2022-23 season Nov. 3-20 with a spirited and revolutionary love story celebrating Yiddish language and literature written by celebrated Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel.

Cygnet Theatre announces its return to in-person readings for The Bill and Judy Garrett Finish Line Commission in 2022. In partnership with the UCSD MFA Playwriting Program, the commission supports Cygnet's commitment to new theatrical works, written by groundbreaking local playwrights as well as nationally recognized playwrights.

Parity Productions, the New York-based theatre company dedicated to producing new work by women, trans, and gender-expansive playwrights and filling at least 80% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) with women, trans, and gender-expansive artists, has awarded two commissions to SAM MUELLER for 70.3 and JORDAN RAMIREZ PUCKETT for En Las Sombras.

CalArts Center for New Performance (CNP) kicks off its 20th anniversary season on Thursday, September 29, 2022, with the world premiere of Scene with Cranes, written by acclaimed playwright Octavio Solis, directed by Chi-wang Yang. It will run from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, 2022 at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) in downtown Los Angeles. 

Berkeley Repertory Theatre and their Board of Trustees announced that Tom Parrish will become the next managing director of the award-winning theatre company. The appointment comes following current Managing Director Susie Medak's retirement, which she had previously announced in January of this year.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. Subscriptions are now available; single tickets will be available in the coming months at TheatreWorks.org.

East West Players has announced casting for the rolling world premiere of INTERSTATE, an Asian-American pop-rock poetry musical that follows Dash, a transgender spoken word performer who becomes internet-famous along with his best friend Adrian, a lesbian singer-songwriter.

San Diego Repertory Theatre announced today the lineup for the 29th Annual Lipinsky Family San Diego Jewish Arts Festival (JFest), which brings another fantastic year of Jewish music, theatre, art and ideas to the community. T

The newest production in SDSU’s New Musical Initiative, Postcard American Town will have its world premiere from April 29 – May 5, 2022. Written by Lynne Shankel and Crystal Skillman, this world premiere production will be directed by Professor Stephen Brotebeck, and music directed by Professor Robert Meffe from the School of Theatre, Television, and Film. 

Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its production of Man of God, written by Anna Ouyang Moench (Mothers, Birds of North America) and directed by Maggie Burrows (TRAYF, Damsels). 

Diversionary announces the cast and creative team of the World Premiere Musical of EIGHTY-SIXED. Kevin Newbury will direct the World Premiere production of EIGHTY-SIXED by Jeremy J. King and Sam Salmond and choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly.

San Diego Repertory Theatre announced the cast and creative team for their upcoming premiere of In Every Generation by Ali Viterbi, directed by Todd Salovey and Emily Moler. The production will run May 26 - June 19 in San Diego REP’s Lyceum Space, with previews running May 26 - 31 and press opening on Wednesday, June 1 at 7pm. The play is one of the cornerstone events of San Diego REP’s JFEST, the 29th Annual Lipinsky Family San Diego Jewish Arts Festival.
