Producers Barry Diller, David Geffen, and Kate Horton announced today that the smash hit Broadway musical The Music Man is making available 10,000 tickets at just $20 each to New York City students, their families, and their teachers to help foster a love and appreciation for the arts by making Broadway more accessible.

Little Girl Blue, the musical inspired by the life of Nina Simone has announced it will push its opening night from February 28 to March 14th due to the recent Omicron Covid-19 spike in New York City. 

Little Girl Blue, a musical inspired by Nina Simone’s life, written by and starring Laiona Michelle (Amazing Grace, Book of Mormon, American Hero), will open for a limited run engagement,  Off-Broadway at the Shubert Organization’s New World Stages (Stage 5) on February 28, 2022.

Houses on the Moon Theater Company/HOTM will hold their 20th anniversary gala, “Amplify 2021” on Monday evening, November 8, 2021 at The Loreto Theatre at The Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street, NYC). It was a big week in New York theatre as Bruce Springsteen opened a Broadway show for the first time in 15 months to a fully vaccinated crowd. While theatre has continued in various forms throughout the pandemic, seeing the return of a show to one of the major commercial centers of the industry was an important step from an economic and emotional standpoint.

Presented by NewYorkRep in association with Rashad V. Chambers and Five Ohm Productions, the short play series, CivilWrights, will continue with Shot: Caught a Soul.  The 30-minute play by Gloria J. Browne-Marshall streams live, Sunday, March 21, 6PM.

January 17 at 7PM, streaming live at FiveOhm.TV. A response to the national crisis on systemic racism, four playwrights of color have written 10-minute mini plays on racism.
