Already in previews, Heidi Schreck's 2019 Tony-nominated Best Play and Pulitzer Prize finalist WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME has been extended twice at the Mark Taper Forum through February 28, 2020. Maria Dizzia assumes the role of Heidi in this national tour, with original Broadway cast members Mike Iveson and Rosdely Ciprian rounding out the cast. (Jocelyn Shek will alternate the role of debater with Rosdely.) I had the opportunity to ask a few CONSTITUTIONal questions of Mike.

What the Constitution Means to Me officially opened this week at the Mark Taper Forum. Starring Maria Dizzia, written by Heidi Schreck and directed by Oliver Butler, performances will continue through February 28.

As soon as the ordinary theatregoer hears the title What the Constitution Means to Me, he may think 'a boring two hours of history and politics! I get enough of that on a daily basis. I think I'll pass.' Beware! Do not make such judgmental statements! Take a leap of faith and see this play. I found it scintillating; it educated and enlightened me. Now onstage through February 23 at the Taper, Heidi Schreck's in depth exploration is not a one person play about the contents of the Constitution. Yes, of course it presents facts, but the overwhelmingly violent issues at hand are extremely personal and relatable. In spite of its dark corners, it will surprisingly shower you with laughs and hopefully make you want to stand up and fight for human rights.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that tickets for Heidi Schreck's Tony Award nominated play and Pulitzer Prize finalist What the Constitution Means to Me will go on sale January 3, 2020.  What the Constitution Means to Me will play Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) for a limited 6-week engagement March 4 through April 12, 2020.

As final casting is being announced, the engagement of playwright Heidi Schreck's 'What the Constitution Means to Me' at Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum is already being extended by a week due to overwhelming early sales. While Heidi Schreck's highly personal Tony Award-nominated play 'What the Constitution Means to Me' will embark on a national tour in the near future, the Kennedy Center's offering is unique because it stars the original Broadway cast, including Tony Award nominee Ms. Schreck herself. To that end, the timely show, directed by Oliver Butler, is absolutely worth a look.

BroadwayWorld has learned that WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME is being recorded today for eventual future release. 

The two-time Tony Award-nominated, Pulitzer Prize Finalist, and Obie Award-winning Best New American Play What the Constitution Means to Me has achieved full recoupment of its $2.5 million capitalization with the week ending July 14th, and will deliver a full return of capital to its investors with six weeks remaining in the Broadway engagement.

Heidi Schreck is currently starring in her own play, What the Constitution Means to Me, on Broadway, after a tranfer from New York Theatre Workshop. The play received two Tony nominations, both for Schreck as a playwright and as an actress. The Obie winning actress sat down with amNewYork to discuss her whirlwind year and what is next for her.

The Tony Award nominated play and Pulitzer Prize finalist What the Constitution Means to Me is proud to announce a new partnership with The Mayor's Fund to launch the NYC Civics and Arts Fund that will subsidize tickets for hundreds of students through the rest of the show's Broadway run through August 24, 2019.

The two-time Tony Award nominated play and Pulitzer Prize Finalist What the Constitution Means to Me has announced its second and final extension on Broadway. Initially announced for a 12-week engagement through June 9, 2019, What the Constitution Means to Me previously extended through July 21, 2019 and will now play five additional weeks through August 24, 2019 at the Helen Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street, New York, NY), for a total run of 24 weeks. What the Constitution Means to Me officially opened March 31, 2019 after beginning preview performances March 14.

Clubbed Thumb held their gala earlier this week, honoring playwrights Heidi Schreck (What the Constitution Means to Me), Jaclyn Backhaus (Men on Boats), and Sarah DeLappe (The Wolves) and their feminist disruption of the American theatre.  Special guests for the evening included Tatiana Maslany, Lila Neugebauer, Grace Gummer, Pam MacKinnon and Anne Kauffman, among others.
