BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of JoAnn Falletta, is opening the 175th Erie County Fair with an 'American Voices' concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6. Many opportunities for photo and video exist during this day. The orchestra will rehearse for this concert from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fair's Grandstand on August 6. Individual musicians will be available for appearances until 7 p.m. Please contact Kate Jenkins if you are interested in speaking with a musician. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Grandstand. It features music by Aaron Copland, Duke Ellington and Leroy Anderson, and concludes with a fireworks show. Contact Holly Smyczynski for site-related assistance. Photographers and videographers are welcome to shoot up to 30 minutes total during rehearsal and during the concert. Video used may represent up to a three-minute excerpt of one work or up to five minutes of multiple works. Photographers are asked to refrain from using flash at the evening concert. As Buffalo's cultural ambassador, the Grammy Award-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under the leadership of music director JoAnn Falletta presents more than 100 concerts each year. Since 1940, the orchestra's home has been Kleinhans Music Hall, a National Historic Landmark with a reputation as one of the finest concert halls in the United States. During the tenure of JoAnn Falletta, the BPO has rekindled its history of radio broadcasts and recordings, including the release of 29 new recordings on the Naxos and Beau Fleuve labels. CSO to Celebrate 30th Holiday Pops with 'Greatest Hits' Program, 12/6-8

In celebration of the CSO's 30th year of presenting Holiday Pops, chorus master and conductor Ronald Jenkins, who conceived the program in 1983 and has since conducted all 90 performances, has selected a program of audience favorites from the past three decades. Deer Valley Music Festival to Kick Off with 1812 Overture, Today

The Deer Valley Music Festival, summer home of Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, is celebrating ten years of music in the mountains with a festival lineup that highlights the diversity of the orchestra and its audience. The 2013 Festival features seventeen performances from June 29 to August 10 at venues in Park City, Utah, including ten performances at Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheatre which was recently highlighted by CNN as one of eight 'amazing' outdoor concert venues.
