The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS) presents a rare side-by-side concert of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite performed by the NJYS Youth Symphony alongside Duke Ellington's jazz rendition performed by the NJYS Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, December 8 at 3:00 p.m. at the Union County Performing Arts Center (1601 Irving Street in Rahway). On Saturday, December 14, at 3pm and 6pm, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Holiday POPS! concert celebrates the season with returns of the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble and the Princeton High School Choir. The festive program features March of the Toys by Victor Herbert, 'White Christmas' by Irving Berlin, 'Waltz of the Flowers' from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, a polka by Johann Strauss Jr., Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, and more. Of course, everyone is invited to join in the annual carol sing-along! Conductor Nell Flanders leads both performances, which take place at Richardson Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University.

The program, presented as a part of the Chicago Park District's Night Out in the Parks initiative, invites students and community members to play alongside professional Chicago Philharmonic musicians in a series of free, public concerts in Chicago's beautiful parks. Boston Ballet II (BBII) will perform at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe, Vermont on Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 pm.  The program will feature three works by Boston Ballet-based choreographers, a 19th century work by Arthur Saint-Leon, composer Amilcare Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours, a romantic duet by Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, and excerpts from Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker.
