Films such as West Side Story, tick, tick...BOOM!, Cyrano, Encanto, and In the Heights were recognized this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press. The film stars Judi Dench, Caitriona Balfe, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds, and Jude Hill. The film follows one boy's childhood, amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s.

TIFF is excited to announce the following twelve films as a sampling of what is to come in the Festival’s Official Selection for 2021.

'First Stone From the Moon,' a surreal drama set in a Yorkshire pub and the Outer Hebrides, is among Runners-Up for the 18th Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing. The three Finalists and six Runners-up were chosen from 220 entries from 14 countries.

The cast is made up of all RADA graduates with Branagh playing Andrew Crocker-Harris. He will be joined by Kemi Awoderu (Taplow), Joseph Kloska (Frank Hunter), Lolita Chakrabarti (Millie Crocker-Harris), Wendy Kweh (Dr Frobisher), Victor Alli (Peter Gilbert) and Sarah Eve (Mrs Gilbert).

Acclaimed actor and director, Kenneth Branagh is set to direct and star in Terence Rattigan's play The Browning Version.

Esh Alladi will play a young Gandhi in Tanika Gupta's The Overseas Student, Tom Mothersdale will play new father Jack in Simon Stephens' Blue Water and Cold and Fresh and Ayesha Antoine will play security guard Donna in Roy Williams' Go, Girl.
