Saul Williams, Christopher Jackson, Tonya Pinkins & More Set for Tupac Musical HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME

Award-winning slam poet, actor, singer, musician Saul Williams (Slam), Christopher Jackson (After Midnight), Saycon Sengbloh (Motown The Musical, Fela!), Ben Thompson(Matilda), John Earl Jelks (Radio Golf - Tony nomination), Joshua Boone (Brownsville Song [b side for Tray] at Actors Theatre of Louisville), Dyllon Burnside ('Prison Break') and Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins (Jelly's Last Jam, Caroline or Change, Play On!) will star in HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, the new Broadway musical inspired by the lyrics of Tupac Shakur. Written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon, HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME will begin performances on May 29, 2014 and open June 19, 2014 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street). The Public Theater has announced casting today for the international collaboration of Shakespeare's ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, produced by The Public Theater, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Miami's GableStage. Directed and edited by Tarell Alvin McCraney, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA will play in Stratford-upon-Avon at the RSC's Swan Theatre (November 7-30, 2013), before travelling to the United States for an engagement in Miami Beach at The Colony Theater (January 11-February 9, 2014) followed by a limited run at The Public Theater (February 18-March 23, 2014). ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA features a transatlantic cast that includes Jonathan Cake as Mark Antony and Joaquina Kalukango as Cleopatra. (more...)
