Morecambe and Wise have been a part of my life since childhood. I've spent countless hours sat watching their shows, looking up their sketches on YouTube and always making sure to watch any documentaries. I've always felt disappointed that I never got to see my favourite comedians live on stage.

Fane and The National Theatre are delighted to announce that Elizabeth Day will interview critically acclaimed actor, writer and producer Mark Gatiss and that actor and activist Sir Ian McKellen will interview Armistead Maupin, alongside the already announced event which will see Sir Michael Parkinson interviewed by his son Mike, as part of Authors on Stage at the Lyttelton Theatre.

Stage and screen star Ian Stenlake is joining the cast of the Australian premiere of The Bridges of Madison County to play the leading role of Robert Kincaid. Based on the best-selling novel and developed by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning creative team of Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World) and Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden, The Colour Purple), the Tony Award winning musical The Bridges of Madison County will have its Australian Premiere next month at Hayes Theatre Co.

Matt Lucas stepped in to play the role of Thénardier for a few weeks when Gerard Carey was unable to perform before the first preview of the new production of Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre last month due to vocal injury caused by contracting pneumonia. Last week Lucas regrettably sustained a back injury which has meant he is unable to continue in the role.
