"Sing Me Home" is a new musical set to premiere at the prestigious New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) on July 20th but Los Angeles had the honor of hosting its debut at Rockwell on Sunday, July 13th. Featuring a variety of performers, each song was introduced by writing team, Amber Cassell or author/singer/songwriter Kristy Hanson who penned all 13 songs. (more...)

On May 19, 2014, Vitello's Jazz and Supperclub presents Triple Threat, a monthly Broadway concert series, featuring some of LA's finest Broadway talent. This theme for this month's concert is Disney, and will feature Broadway singers performing songs from both Disney movies and musicals. Hosted by the voice of Louis the Alligator from Disney's The Princess and the Frog, Michael-Leon Wooley (Little Shop of Horrors, Five Guys Named Moe, The Music Man), the concert will feature performers Sharon Wilkins (Seussical, The Life, All Shook Up), J. Forty-Seven Percent Records, a division of Happy Panda Productions, have released a music video entitled 'Black Romney: Binders Full O Bitches' in which "Black Romney", a rapper version of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, expresses his disinterest in a variety of human beings, such as the unemployed, homosexuals, single mothers, and many others. Created, written and directed by Asian-American actress and comedienne Deborah S. Craig (CW's "Hart of Dixie") and starring Burl Moseley, this piece of political satire also features cameos by Broadway performers Jared Gertner (currently starring in the national tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON), Haviland Stillwell and Erin Quill. Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz was honored and presented with with Desert Ensemble Theatre Company's inaugural Melpomai Award at When You Believe: A Conversation With and Tribute To Stephen Schwartz on May 19 in Palm Springs. The event was held in the Annenberg Theater at the Palm Springs Art Museum, and featured a conversation with Schwartz as well as performances of his stage and movie musical hits. Directed and moderated by Scott Logsdon (Les Miserables), the evening included performances from Tony nominee Andrea McArdle (Annie), Hunter Parrish (Broadway's Godspell revival and Showtime's 'Weeds'), Kate Flannery (NBC's 'The Office'), Pamla Vale Abramson, Melissa Batalles, Garrett Hoy, Ben Reece, Haviland Stillwell (Les Miserables and Fiddler on the Roof) and Laura L.Thomas.
