Casting has been announced for a new production of the West End and Broadway smash hit Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical arriving at The King's Theatre in 2024! Learn more about the show and how to get tickets here!

Gareth Snook who plays the iconic role of Willy Wonka, came together with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical cast members Isaac Sugden and Jessie-Lou Harvie, who both play the role of Charlie Bucket, outside of Birmingham Hippodrome to mark the productions arrival in the city.

This touring production is the first to include female actresses included as regular Charlie Bucket performers. This is just one of the ways that inclusion has been developed into this production as scenes with Charlie’s mother, performed here by Leonie Spilsbury, see the actors very effortlessly include BSL as part of their character communication with each other. 

When Roald Dahl’s story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory first came out it must have blown people’s minds – this man, this character, Willy Wonka. Who is he? It’s not a question that one can answer easily, believe me, I’ve tried to answer it.

Embarking on its first ever UK & Ireland Tour this dazzling new production of the successful West End and Broadway musical will take you to a world of pure imagination.

The much-anticipated UK and Ireland tour of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical will open its gates at the Edinburgh Playhouse from 29th March to 15th April.

Leeds Playhouse has revealed the full company who will join previously announced Gareth Snook (Willy Wonka) in its exciting new production of Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY – THE MUSICAL, presented in association with Neal Street Productions & Playful Productions.

Leeds Playhouse has announced that Gareth Snook will play Willy Wonka in its new production of Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY – THE MUSICAL presented in association with Neal Street Productions and Playful Productions. The show is set to premiere at Leeds Playhouse from 18 November 2022 – 28 January 2023, ahead of a major UK Tour.

Sky Arts will broadcast a new documentary Cameron Mackintosh - The First 50 Years on Monday 27 December 2021 at 7pm, a two-hour programme featuring Mackintosh’s life as a producer told through his own eyes and those of his friends and colleagues including his most famous writer collaborators.

Full casting has now been confirmed for Romantics Anonymous a?" the delicious new musical from visionary director Emma Rice (Wise Children). Embarking on a virtual tour this autumn, the show will be co-hosted online by the Belgrade Theatre on Wednesday 23 September.

This week's offering is the 25th-anniversary performance of The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall and live-streamed in cinemas in 2011. 

After a hugely successful debut in 2018 at London's Old Vic Theatre and a subsequent UK tour, Emma Rice's highly theatrical adaptation of Angela Carter's Wise Children is a welcome and absurdist addition to the BBC's Culture in Quarantine series, filmed at York Theatre Royal in 2019.
