Honolulu Theatre for Youth has announced the world premiere of its digital production of Stories of Oceania by The HTY Ensemble.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth has announce the premiere of its digital production of The Carp Who Would Not Quit and Other Animal Stories by Reiko Ho and the HTY Ensemble. The show is the second offering in HTY's 2021 virtual season.

With the conclusion of the 2019-2020 Chicago non-Equity theater season, the Jeff Awards announced the nominees for the 47th annual awards for theater excellence that include 120 theater artists across 21 categories.

The Saint Sebastian Players (SSP) conclude their 39th mainstage season with 1946 comedy Born Yesterday by Garson Kanin. Performances take place April 24-May 17, 2020 in the lower level of St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey, Chicago (enter on Marshfield).

HTY is pleased to announce the world premiere of The Carp Who Would Not Quit created by Reiko Ho and the HTY ensemble. Audiences will enjoy these tellings of traditional fables from Japan and Okinawa that teach important lessons of persistence, respect and kindness. Introducing music, language and performance traditions from these cultures, this interactive performance is specifically developed for our youngest audience members and their families (3+ years).

Full cast and crew have been announced for Pride Films and Plays' production of THE CHRISTMAS FOUNDLING, by Norman Allen. The play is the story of a 10-year old boy who was found as an infant in the California Sierras by two Gold Rush miners one Christmas Eve.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth's SHOCKA: The Story of Energy & Hawaii is currently touring the neighbor islands and will have one public performance at UH Hilo Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 9 @ 7:00 pm.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, with original music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Bryan Adams and his longtime songwriting partner Jim Vallance, a book by Garry Marshall and the film's screenwriter J.F. Lawton, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, opened just last night, Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre.

Hawaii Honolulu Theatre for Youth kicks off its 64th season 'Our Stories' with Filipino Folktales & Fables, a celebration of one of Hawaii's largest and most important communities.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth's season finale SHOCKA: The Story of Energy and Hawaii completes a three part series of original musical theatre productions exploring topics important to Hawaii's keiki.  Following the company's exploration of local food and water, SHOCKA focuses on Hawaii's energy future.  From the energy that fuels our bodies to how we power our electrical grid this sci-fi rock musical educates and entertains audiences of all ages.  "One of our most important roles as an organization is to include young people in the conversations that are shaping their future and there is nothing more impactful to our future in Hawaii right now than energy" says HTY's Artistic Director, Eric Johnson. SHOCKA will have audiences dancing in their seats while transforming them into the Energy Stars our future needs!
