Award-winning choreographer Doug Varone's NYC-based dance company Doug Varone and Dancers comes to the Hammer Theatre Center in downtown San Jose October 29 & 30, to present an evening of three stunning works: Somewhere, Lux, and Octet.

The South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center has announced its 2021-2022 season lineup starring over 20 different performers. The season kicks off on Saturday, October 9 with comedian Rex Havens.

Doug Varone and Dancers announce its 2021 New York Season, The Scrapbook. Through a virtual, interactive presentation, a scrapbook shared between two characters guides us into their locked-down worlds and beyond.

This year Peggy Baker, one of the most influential dancers and choreographers of her generation, celebrates 50 years of performing and creating extraordinary dance in Canada and around the world.  Ms. Baker will present a new major production in the fall of 2022 and will then wind down her company, Peggy Baker Dance Projects, in 2023. 

On International Women's Day - Monday, March 8th, 2021, Queens Theatre will present Turning in Place, a film showcase celebrating the work of emerging female-identifying choreographers. The premiere will take place at 7 PM EST and be immediately followed by a talkback session with the choreographers.

Purchase College announced last week that Seth Soloway, Director of the Performing Arts Center, Purchase College, will be leaving Purchase to become the Associate Dean for Presenting and External Relations at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.

NEXT WEEK, Nov. 30 through Dec. 6, the 2020 ADG Virtual Festival will stream WEEK EIGHT, a tribute to Garth Fagan, Martha Myers and the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers/Louis Mofsie, honorees at American Dance Guild Festival 2017 - 'Celebrating Diversity.' 

Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) presents a new short film project entitled Uncharted Territory: Dancers in Isolation, available now at https://vimeo.com/482125982. The piece is a preview trailer for a larger project of the same name, which will be developed further at the end of March as in-person performances and a long-form film.
