Guest Resident Choreographer Pam Tanowitz Choreographs New Work of Bach

Pam Tanowitz has begun to choreograph a dance on the Paul Taylor Dance Company (PTDC) to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach as a Guest Resident Choreographer of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance (PTAMD). Ms. Tanowitz was selected by Paul Taylor prior to his death in August. Her new work will premiere as part of Orchestra of St. Luke's Bach Festival next June, and will then be part of PTAMD's Fall Lincoln Center Season.
10HL Partners With Elizabeth Public Schools/3rd Consecutive Year

10 Hairy Legs will provide the Dance to Learn program to all second grade students at iPrep Academy and George Washington School #1 in Elizabeth, NJ in Fall 2018. The Creative Movement Residency includes 14 consecutive weekly classes during the school day taught to 100 students by 10 Hairy Legs Teaching Artist Shawn Brush. Brush works actively as a professional dancer as well as a Teaching Artist. Brush graduated Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University earning BFA's in Dance. The professional company will perform at Jerome Dunn Academy on Thursday, December 20 at 9:30 am with students participating in the program. The performance is free and open to the community.

Peak Performances continues its galvanizing 2018-19 season with Liz Gerring Dance Company's field (October 18-21), the final installment in a trilogy of works Peak Performances has commissioned from the acclaimed choreographer. This work of movement, sound, and light marks the third collaboration between Liz Gerring, composer Michael J. Schumacher, and designer Robert Wierzel, following 2013's glacier and 2015's horizon.

Alison Cook Beatty Dance Presents MOVING STORIES

This diverse program includes ACCUSED (Variation B), exploring the sometimes dark nature of society and whether society is the culprit of devastating events, or in fact, a victim of itself. The second dance is a duet: LIFELINE, a romantic yet complex duet set to music by Karl Jenkins about a couple driven together by desire and pulled apart by outside forces. The third piece is a World Premiere of the NEW WORK, set to the earth-shattering and dynamic composition score by contemporary Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy, 'Gra agus Bas.' The final dance is the joyous MURMURATION, set to music by Ottorino Respighi and highlights the tale of the beautiful aerial ballet of the starlings.

Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the acclaimed ensemble's 77th season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. The upcoming season will be framed by two major musical events, the New York premiere of a multi-media version of Handel's oratorioIsrael in Egypt performed at Carnegie Hall, and a new adaptation of the Kurt Weill-Ira Gershwin-Moss Hart avant-garde musical, Lady in the Dark, starring Victoria Clark at New York City Center. Lady in the Dark has not been seen in New York since it was presented at New York City Center in 1994 as part of the inaugural Encores! season.

A-Y/dancers, a new company with a repertoire committed to the preservation of classical modern dance and the creation of emerging choreography, debuts with their first evening of dance in the Hudson Valley, October 13-14at the Howland Cultural Center.
