BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Javier Muñoz will star as Alexander Hamilton, 'the ten-dollar Founding Father without a father,' once a week in the Broadway production of Hamilton. Hamilton will begin previews at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 W. 46 St.) on July 13 prior to an official opening night on August 6. The world premiere production of Hamilton, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, will start performances on Broadway on July 13 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Choreographer Amy Jordan's company, The Victory Dance Project, will celebrate its first anniversary this week with an evening of dance entitled People, Power and Possibility on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 7 pm at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street (at 9th Avenue). The evening will honor former Ailey star Principal Dancer Renee Robinson, who will receive the company's First Annual Artist for Peace Award and will feature five works choreographed by Jordan. The New York Drama Critics' Circle previously named Between Riverside and Crazy, by Stephen Adly Guirgis, best play of the 2014-15 season. Hamilton was named best musical. The selections were made at the organization's 80th annual voting meeting, at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan.
