The Broadway Sings concert series will continue at the Highline Ballroom its "Best Of Broadway Sings" concert, which will feature showstoppers from the series' previous 11 concerts. Some of Broadway's brightest, current talents, such as 2016 Tony Nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Shuffle Along), Jay Armstrong Johnson (On the Town), and Alison Luff (Les Miserables), will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of pop superstars such as Adele, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, P!NK, Sara Bareilles, and Whitney Houston. Over 15 Broadway performers will be accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing unique, original orchestrations created for the acclaimed series. (more...)

Wolfe Monday night at the Edison Ballroom. The O'Neill annually bestows its Monte Cristo Award on a prominent theater artist whose lifetime work has had an extraordinary impact on American theater. The musical nabbed a total of 10 Tony nominations this year, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actor and Actress, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. Who really cares about spring? Awards season has arrived- the only time of the year that really matters to Broadway fans everywhere. The 2016 Tony nominees were announced earlier this week, with a record 16 nods going to HAMILTON, and show like SHUFFLE ALONG, SHE LOVES ME and LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT also picking up a considerable amount of recognition. Just yesterday the nominees flocked to the Paramount Hotel, where they met with the press for the first time since getting the big news. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the fourth and final time this season to determine the eligibility of nine Broadway productions for the 2016 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
