Beloved psychologist Dr. Ruth Westheimer celebrates her 94th birthday this June, and in celebration, six-time Tony- and Emmy-nominated actor Tovah Feldshuh and the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust will present a special virtual broadcast of the one-woman Off-Broadway show, Becoming Dr. Ruth.

For one night only, an ensemble of Broadway performers will gather for an evening of songs and stories for Arts Ignite Richmond: A Broadway Spectacular on Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 PM at the Richmond Triangle Players’ Robert B. Moss Theatre. 

Redhouse will close its 2021-22 season with Tony Award nominated musical comedy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which will run from June 10-19, 2022. The show will be directed by Maha McCain and star Fred Grandy (The Love Boat) along with Broadway actor Richard Barth.

The cast of the North American premiere production of & Juliet includes Tony winners, acclaimed actors from the U.S., Canada and England, and exciting new talent. 

The 2022 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony will take place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Monday, June 6, at 7:30pm, featuring presenters from both Broadway and beyond. See the full list of nominees.

& Juliet will hold a special sing-along performance of the acclaimed show at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Monday 6 June 2022 at 19.30. Tickets will go on sale at 10.30 on Wednesday 27 April.

Currently, the band is featured on the soundtrack of the new Apple TV+ show WeCrashed starring Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto. Don’t Believe in Ghosts is also featured performing on the show’s third episode. “This Is Paradise” can now be streamed on all digital platforms worldwide.

Best-laid plans! The dates for Bear & Co.'s production of Vern Thiessen's Shakespeare's Will starring Ottawa's own Eleanor Crowder at The Gladstone have shifted. The production will open in the newly reroofed Gladstone a week later than planned.

This passion project of Executive Director of Southwest Shakespeare, Mary Way, and written by Dathan B. Williams, offers a different take on the man, the myth, the legend - William Shakespeare - through the words of his sonnets.

& Juliet has announced additional casting, including stage and screen veterans Keala Settle, Julius D'Silva, and Tom Francis. They will join the currently cast Olivier Award winners Miriam Teak-Lee and Cassidy Janson. Settle will play Nurse, Francis will play Romeo, and D'Silva will play the amorous Frechman, Lance. & Juliet is running at the Shaftesbury Theatre, where the show recently extended its booking period through until Saturday 24 September 2022.

Announced today is Millennials Are Killing Musicals, a new musical written by NAMT and Drama League Award-winner Nico Juber, which will receive an industry reading on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00am and 2:00pm at Open Jar Studios, and will be presented in a public concert on Monday, April 4th at 9:30pm at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Mixing history, mystery, sword play and word play, JANE ANGER takes a jab at right-sizing Shakespeare and does so with hilarious results. Billed as a “Jacobean feminist revenge Comedy,” the one-act play written by Talene Monahon provides ample opportunity for us to hate on the egotistical bard while still swooning for the versatile actor who plays him (Michael Urie).

This week I saw productions of two decades-old musicals, each written by one of theatre's great composer/lyricists, which, in their original productions, ran a combined total of nine performances on Broadway.

Broadway’s uproarious new comedy about the women in charge of the man in charge of the free world, POTUS begins previews at the Shubert Theatre on Thursday, April 14, 2022, with an official Opening Night of Monday, May 9, 2022, for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 14, 2022.
