Original Theatre has released its 2022 Annual Review video detailing the facts and figures behind a successful year for the touring and online digital theatre production company, in spite of the continuing challenges being faced by the arts sector.

Original Theatre, in association with New Wolsey Theatre, presents the UK premiere of THE TIME MACHINE, a fast-paced and wise-cracking retelling of the world-famous novel by H.G. Wells, written by Steven Canny and John Nicholson, based on a story created with Mark Shanahan.

Original Theatre Company's online on demand production, INTO THE NIGHT, returns this winter from 18 November at 7.30pm. Marking the 41st anniversary of the Penlee Lifeboat disaster, there will also be an online discussion on Sunday 18 December (3:15pm – 4pm).

The UK Tour of Agatha Christie's THE MIRROR CRACK'D has been extended into 2023, with dates added in Cambridge, High Wycombe, Birmingham, Kingston and Aberdeen. The brand new production of Rachel Wagstaff's acclaimed adaptation is directed by Philip Franks. The UK Tour opened on 9 September 2022 and has already received rave reviews.

The award-winning Original Theatre Company and Octagon Theatre Bolton’s acclaimed 2021/22 tour of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most celebrated adventure, The Hound of the Baskervilles, will be available on demand online from 14 April at 7.30pm until 31 July 2022

Original Theatre Company has announced Miss Marple’s return to the stage in a brand new production of Rachel Wagstaff’s acclaimed adaptation of Agatha Christie’s THE MIRROR CRACK’D. The production, directed by Philip Franks, will begin its UK Tour at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne on 8 September 2022.

 Marking 40 years since the event, INTO THE NIGHT is a unique theatrical performance being streamed online to UK and international audiences from 12 January 2022 at 7.30pm (GMT), with an extended run until 20 February 2022. 

We talk to cast members Tom Chambers, Susan Penhaligon and Tim Treloar, as well as the show’s director, Alastair Whatley about Into The Night.

Marking 40 years since the event, INTO THE NIGHT is a unique theatrical performance which will be broadcast live on Saturday 18 December 2021 at 5.30pm. The filmed performance will then be available on demand from 6 – 30 January 2022. 

Originally commissioned for BBC Radio 4 and winner of the BBC Audio Drama Award 2018 for Best Single Drama, Marcus Brigstocke's compelling drama of family and addiction is based on his own recovery. The 2019 stage production had acclaimed runs at Omnibus Theatre and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. 

On Saturday 19 December 1981, the Penlee lifeboat ‘Solomon Browne’, was launched in hurricane conditions to go to the aid of the coaster ‘Union Star’ that had engine failure and was being swept towards the southern coast of Cornwall. It was an attempted rescue which ranks not only with the greatest in the history of the RNLI, but with any human achievement.
