Manhattan Theatre Club announced the lineup for the 2022 Ted Snowdon Reading Series. The readings kick off Monday, March 14 and will be held on Mondays through March 28. The readings will take place at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street). All readings are free and open to the public, but space is limited and RSVPs are required.

The Echo Theater Company presents an irreverent, darkly funny coming-of-age story that explores racial identity, privilege and pop culture with insight, passion and biting humor. Ahmed Best directs the Los Angeles premiere of Hooded, or Being Black for Dummies by rising-star playwright Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm, set to open March 12 for a six-week run through April 18. Three “pay what you want” previews take place on March 9, March 10 and March 11.

Soho Rep. today announced a robust 2021-22 season with which it will reopen its home at 46 Walker Street. The company welcomes full-capacity in-person audiences back for the first time since late 2019 with the presentation of works-in-progress from the Writer/Director Lab, a signature program of the theater for over two decades.

From September 24 to October 16, 2021, SpeakEasy Stage Company will present the Boston-area premiere of the gripping drama THE SOUND INSIDE by Adam Rapp.

Noting that the health and safety of its audiences, performers, staff, and volunteers are a top priority, Marin Theatre Company announced today the postponement of the opening of its 2021­­–2022 season until November 2021.

The Echo Theater Company's world premiere production of Poor Clare will open in October, 19 months after the originally scheduled March, 2020 opening that was shuttered by the pandemic. Today, The 24 Hour Plays, creators of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, The 24 Hour Musicals and the Viral Monologues, announced this year’s company for The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, which will be held as a virtual program.

The season will consist of nine episodes.

A virtual 25th Birthday Celebration, featuring 25 monologues by 25 playwrights including Boni B. Alvarez, Bekah Brunstetter, Jessica Goldberg, Hilly Hicks Jr., David Ives, David Lindsay-Abaire and Sarah Ruhl, performed by actors such as Enrico Colantoni, Marin Hinkle, Brent Jennings, Megan Ketch, Hamish Linklater and James Tupper, will take place on Thursday, July 1.

It’s a summer “homecoming” for Goodman Theatre audiences! On July 30, Chicago’s theater since 1925 will resume live, in-person performances following a 16-month COVID-19 pandemic period of darkened stages.
