City Lyric Opera has announced a shift in its company structure and an exciting lineup for its Spring 2024 programming. For seven seasons, City Lyric Opera has enchanted audiences with grand stage productions and intimate salon concerts. Now, the company is embarking on a new chapter that puts artists front and center, celebrating the individual artistry that makes the New York music scene thrive.

Brooklyn Art Haus, New York City's newest performing arts venue premiering original and innovative theater, will present the staged reading of the new play Fairfarren in conjunction with the show's playwright, Preston Fox, and directed by Emily Gallagher.

Barefoot Shakespeare Company will present Lady Capulet written by Melissa Bell and directed by Emily Gallagher. The production will be presented as part of the 2023 Little Shakespeare Festival at UNDER St. Marks (94 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10009) with performances on August 3 at 9pm and August 5 at 4pm and 9pm.

The Little Shakespeare Festival presents LADY CAPULET, an original prequel to Romeo & Juliet, written by Melissa Bell and directed by Emily Gallagher, as staged readings, at Under Saint Marks Theatre, 94 St Mark’s Place, NYC, on Thursday, August 3, at 9pm, and Saturday, August 5, at 4pm and 9pm.

Barefoot Shakespeare Company will present William Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, directed by Robert Aronowitz and Emily Asbury. All performances will be held at Summit Rock in Central Park and admission is free.

Written and directed by emerging DC playwright, Addison Janney, and starring Hudson Rhotenberry, Katie Gallagher, and Noa Gelb, Yes, But I Have To is the story of a young couple, Grafton (Rhotenberry) and Emily (Gallagher), who must navigate each other, and themselves, under claustrophobic circumstances. Something has gone horribly wrong. We know only that there has been fear and travel and loneliness and death -- and now winter. Temporarily stranded in an abandoned cabin in the mountains, Grafton and Emily are in the process of being distilled down to their barest selves.
