MNM Productions today announced that its current production of the award-winning musical SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM has received "Recommended" status for the Carbonell Awards, South Florida's most prestigious award for professional theater. This prestigious status means that the show will be seen by Carbonell judges and is eligible for nominations.

The show is running through August 9 at the Crest Theatre in Delray Beach, followed by five performances August 13-16 at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse in West Palm Beach. The four-star cast of audience favorites in this musical tribute to legendary Broadway composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim has already earned a total of 13 Carbonell nominations and three wins: Shelley Keelor (two Carbonell nominations), Wayne LeGette (seven nominations, two wins), the twice-nominated Alix Paige and Leah Sessa (two ensemble nominations, one win). SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM is being produced by MNM's co-founders Marcie Gorman and Michael Lifshitz, with Bruce Linser serving as director and Paul Reekie (one Carbonell nomination) as musical director.

"While this is only MNM's second production, Michael Lifshitz and I have been actively involved within South Florida's theatrical community for many years, so we are both delighted that SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM has received the much-coveted Recommended status from the Carbonell Awards," says Gorman. "We have assembled an excellent cast and production team that have been earning well deserved standing ovations after every performance so far at the Crest Theatre in Delray," adds Lifshitz.
