A Rock Sails By at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre

Laura Turnbull

LAURA TURNBULL (Dr. Lynn Cummings) is delighted to be back at Actors’ Playhouse, especially in her third Sean Grennan play; The Tin Woman and Now and Then being the first two. She was most recently seen in Cabaret at Zoetic Stage and prior to that Rooted at Theatre Lab, preceded by Murder On the Orient Express at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Laura has worked at nearly every professional theatre in South Florida over the past 25 years including Palm Beach Dramaworks, Florida Stage, The Caldwell, and GableStage. She is a proud long-standing member of Actor’s Equity and SAG-AFTRA and has performed on Broadway, Off Broadway, national tours, in regional theatres, and television and film. However, her greatest pride and deepest sense of joy comes from her two incredible daughters who continue to inspire, impress, and amaze her every day.

Lela Elam

LELA ELAM (Player) is beyond excited to be a part of this production. As a fan of Sean Grennan’s work since starring in his show The Tin Woman at Actors’ Playhouse, she is grateful to David Arisco for the chance to experience the magic of his words again. Lela also starred in Actors’ Playhouses’ production of The Book Club Play. She has received seven Carbonell nominations and two wins for In The Continuum and Ruined at GableStage under the direction of the late Joseph Adler. You can catch her streaming in shows like David Makes Man (OWN), Bloodline (Netflix), and on the TBS hit comedy series Wrecked where she spent two seasons as Diane From Toledo.

Daniel Llaca

DANIEL LLACA (Jason) is a Miami-based Cuban American artist working as an actor for both stage and screen. Recent credits include Magic Mike 3 (dir. by Steven Soderbergh), Proof (Actors’ Playhouse), Summer Shorts 25th Anniversary (City Theatre), The Impracticality of...Mastadons (Theatre Lab), Nosotros La Gente (American Stage), The Amparo Experience (Broadway Factor), and Dave in the series Just My Type on Amazon Prime. Llaca is also a resident voice actor with Graphic Audio and has provided his voice for various clients including Spirit Airlines, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and HBO. Mallory Newbrough

MALLORY NEWBROUGH (Olive) is a proud AEA member who happily returns to Actors’ stage after being in Murder on the Orient Express and Now and Then. After migrating to South Florida, she soon became the proud recipient of both a 2018 Carbonell Award for her performance of Janis Joplin in Beehive; and two Silver Palm Awards for her work as Bette Midler in Bette & Barry: from Bathhouse to Broadway, Marta in Company and Belle in Beauty and the Beast, for which she also received a Carbonell nomination.
