In October 2013, LOCAL Theater Company presented "Body of Work" an eclectic evening of words, dance and music revering the body, featuring a talk from Eve Ensler. Ensler also read excerpts from her new book "In the Body of the World;" Jamie Ann Romero and LOCAL Company member Rachel Fowler performed pieces from Ensler's "The Good Body;" Courtney Thomas of the Off-Broadway production of Ensler's "Emotional Creatures" performed a piece from Ensler's most recent play; Los Angeles dance pioneer Miss Prissy introduced Boulder to krump; and throughout the night DJ Savior Breath rode the turntables-- all followed by a complimentary wine and dessert after-party.

Tony winner, bestselling author of the international phenomenon "The Vagina Monologues," and one of Newsweek's 150 Women Who Changed the World, Eve Ensler is one of the earth's foremost activists. She is the founder of V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls, which has raised over $100,000,000 for grassroots organizations around the world.
