Bridgeport's Downtown Cabaret Theatre will host the East coast premiere of Stars in Concert, for three performances beginning Friday, April 7 at 7:30pm plus two additional performances on Saturday, April 8 at 5pm and 8:15pm. The Downtown Cabaret Theatre is located at 263 Golden Hill Street in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Producer/entrepreneur/former coach Bernhard Kurz has a real passion for entertainment and can look back on a successful career in show business spanning more than two decades. His extraordinary productions of Stars in Concertfeature celebrity look-and-sound-alike artists have garnered worldwide critical and popular acclaim and established his reputation as the world's leading expert for tribute shows.

Bernhard Kurz is bringing the East coast premiere of his Stars in Concert to Bridgeport's Downtown Cabaret Theatre. Described as the "vision of a perfect deception," Stars in Concert is an homage to the world's legendary stars of yesterday and today. For the Downtown Cabaret performances, Kurz has personally selected the world's best celebrity impersonators of Bette Midler, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Elvis and Tina Turner.

Little did Kurz realize that he was blazing a trail for others to come when he was making a name for himself in the world of sports as an athlete and coach before morphing into a career immersed in the international entertainment industry. He's the first to admit "I'm a better producer than I ever could have been as an artist...just as I was always a better coach than a player."

Since 1997, Producer Bernhard Kurz has been presenting the world's absolute best look-alikes and sound-alikes in the most unique live show hosted in the showroom of the Estrel Berlin, Europe's largest hotel, convention & entertainment center. With over 6,000 performances attended by more than five million people to date, the show is one of the longest-running and most successful productions in German history.

An absolute likeness to the originals is only part of the pre-requisites for the artists taking on the roles of those big idols in Stars in Concert. Only perfect impersonators are employed for this extraordinary stage production. Kurz absolutely demands that their appearances, singing and performances match the original star completely. He has signed more than 40 artists, as the program of Stars in Concert rotates regularly. When the performers take the stage, the audience becomes enveloped in the ultimate world of showbiz and experiences a concert that could never have happened in real life!

Looking back, Kurz says that Stars in Concert has been the most important production of his career, opening doors to numerous other productions and cementing his reputation as the world's premier producer of tribute shows. In reality it's the crème de la crème offering a spectacular homage to music industry greats from the last 60 years. The world's best celebrity impersonators succeed in dazzling audiences and creating the perfect illusion. In addition to those appearing in the East coast premiere in Bridgeport, others impersonators have included Elton John, Louis Armstrong, Cher and Madonna, among others.

Initially, Bernhard Kurz seemed to be the only one predicting that Stars in Concert would turn out to be such a success. The show was originally intended to run for four months only. Kurz sees the secret of its success in the fact that Stars in Concert is a production that appeals to all age groups and continues to enthrall each audience. The success speaks for itself...after Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express, Stars in Concert is the most successful show in Germany.

Kurz' international standing is underscored by numerous awards, including "Best Producer" at the Artist Choice Awards (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007) and the Reel Awards (2004, 2009, 2010 and 2016) in Las Vegas. He was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in Las Vegas in 2006 and has served as the European President of the Las Vegas-based International Association of Talent Agents and Producers since 2008.

Delicious eye-candy is also guaranteed by the enchanting videos which complete the artists' performances with quality images, ensuring a stage show extraordinaire.
