The excitement of the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 continues on Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO this Friday, June 5 at 11:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. CT / 8:30 p.m. PT, when Mexico faces Serbia in a deciding match to end the first phase of the youth tournament. The acclaimed Andrés Cantor, winner of multiple sportscasting awards, and three-time top Mexican scorer Carlos Hermosillo will pool their talents to bring viewers every detail of this important game slated for Friday June 5 at 11:30PM/10:30C/8:30P live on both Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO.

After losing 2-0 to Mali at the beginning of play, Mexico found its feet down under to defeat Uruguay 2-1 last Tuesday, the boost Sergio Almaguer's squad needed to keep alive its hopes for qualifying for the next round. Three young players were instrumental in the team's recovery: Pachuca's Hirving Lozano took advantage of a mistake by South American team's defense to score the first goal in minute 71; Kevin Gutiérrez used a free kick to score one of Mexico's cleanest and most crucial goals in the final minutes of the match; and Orbelín Pineda, a creative and agile midfielder, drew worldwide praise for his masterful footwork despite failing to break through Uruguay's defenses.

The same three players could be key in the upcoming match against Serbia, whose 2-0 shutout of Mali made the outlook more complicated for the four teams in Group D. After two games, all four teams have three points, putting extra pressure on them to win their next matches. Mexico ranks last in number of goals scored so far, making its situation even more tenuous. To make it to the Round of 16, the "Tri" will have to win, and win big.

The U.S. U-20 Men's National Team was the first country to advance to the round of 16 in this year's tournament, after earning a decisive 4-0 victory earlier in the week over host country New Zealand, which will not advance through to the KNOCKOUT phase. The USA squad, composed of a diverse and talented group of up-and-coming soccer phenoms, has been able to spread the ball around allowing midfielders Paul Arriola and Emerson Hyndman; forward Rubio Ruben; and striker Maki Tall, who is out for the remainder of the tournament with a broken toe, all to reach the back of the net. The "Stars and Stripes" will continue its bid to be World Cup Champions when it takes on Ukraine early Friday morning on NBC UNIVERSO at 2:30 am. ET /11:30 p.m. PT on NBC UNIVERSO

All FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 will stream live free of charge on NBCDeportes.com digital platforms and the NBC Deportes EN VIVO EXTRA mobile app.
