Lambert High School students from the Advanced Placement Studio Art and Visual Art I classes took part in a collaboration with the Fine Arts Department and The Atlanta Opera for the "Silent Night Atlanta Opera Project" this month. This is the first collaboration project of its kind for the Lambert visual arts students.

Kim D'Allen's art students were given the background story about the Christmas truce of 1914, and were shown historic examples of World War I propaganda posters. Ms. D'Allen talked about style appropriation and graphic design to give her students inspiration for their designs. Using original sketches and two dimensional media of their choice, some digital and some traditional media, students made 18" x 24" posters that were then professionally framed. The final artwork will be on display for The Atlanta Opera's Final Dress Rehearsal at the Cobb Energy Center Thursday, November 3, 2016.

Artists involved with the project in the Visual Arts I class: seniors Shailin Sing and Aline Castro, freshman Sarah Kim. In Advanced Placement Studio Art: senior Stephanie Tian, junior Tiffany Weng, sophomores Michi Platt and Rina Yoo.
