After enrapturing theatre goers during it's 2013 New York stage run, legendary theatre and film director Julie Taymor (The Lion King, Frida, Across The Universe, Titus, The Tempest) brings her sumptuous production of William Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM to the screen in a unique cinematic theatrical experience.

Teaming with longtime collaborator, Academy-Award winning composer Elliot Goldenthal (Frida, Heat, Interview with a Vampire) and acclaimed cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (Argo, Frida, Brokeback Mountain), Taymor's original eye for detail and dynamic imagery is fully realized, marrying beautifully with the whimsical flights of fancy of Shakespeare's play.

Featuring stellar performances from actors of the stage, screen and television like David Harewood (Homeland), Max Casella (The Sopranos) and in a revelatory, star-making turn, London theatre stalwart Kathryn Hunter as Puck.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM will have its International premiere on Monday, September 8th at 5:00 p.m. at the Isabel Bader theatre, followed by an onstage discussion between Taymor and veteran film journalist Anne Thompson (Thompson on Hollywood). The press and industry screening will occur one day prior on September 7th at 9:00 PM.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM is produced by Lynn Hendee and Ben Latham- Jones' legendary Ealing studios, UK.
