Hooray For Hollywood (Richard A. Whiting) will start off the evening tonight at Carnegie Hall as Maestro Steven Reineke leads The New York Pops in an evening of The Best of Hollywood Blockbuster Film Scores.   You can't get a ticket on Fandango or use your movie pass, but you can possibly snag a ticket at Carnegie Hall for this spectacular music event.  The orchestra was rehearsing this afternoon. The room was once again sold out for the final show of Desmond Child's final show of his first New York City appearance since his club days at Reno Sweeney and The Bottom LIne. Happy Days Were Here Again at Lynn University last night because Ann Hampton Callaway sang the Barbra Streisand Songbook at Jan McCart's Live at Lynn Series. Arguably, one of the finest performers in the music world, Ann is also a composer and lyricist and her songs can be heard on seven of Barbara Streisand's albums. If you happened to be at Barbra's wedding to James Brolin you know that Ann's lyrics were sung by Barbra to the groom.

The elegant and chic atmosphere of The Royal Room at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach had all the excitement of the glory days of Dean, Frank & Sammy at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas last night.

Jerry Herman lives a few miles away in Miami and had to cancel a surprise appearance last night but his glorious music and lyrics, sung by some of the best voices in show business filled the air in this great venue in the City of Aventura. Klea Blackhurst, Scott Coulter, Jason Graae, and Debbie Gravitte some of Broadway's most acclaimed artist were the cast in 'Jerry Herman, The Broadway Legacy Concert' produced by ASCAP's Michael A. Kerker. Jerry may not have given the audience a surprise Valentine's Day visit but they will long remember Jason Graae singing 'I Won't Send You Roses' from Mack & Mabel.

The 9th Annual Heart & Soul Gala chaired by Palm Beach's Anka Palitz and honoring Wendy Whelan and Dr. Omar & Cheryl Almallah was held at The Breakers last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

It takes one to know one and radio Legend Dick Robinson, a hero to all who love the Great American Songbook presented  another legend, Steve Tyrell, a true icon of the music world with the prestigious Legends Award at the Essey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College last night. It was Legends Radio's 4th Birthday Celebration and radio hosts Jill & Rich Switzer, Walt Pinto, Lorna O'Connell, and Mike McGann were also heard 'live' in the Essey Theatre, which was filled with listeners of Legends 100.3FM. 

Adrianne Tolsch, the first female House MC at the legendary Catch a Rising Star was remembered at the Friars Club last night and you can only imagine what happens when comics commemorate one of their own in the confines of the Milton Berle Room's husband, former Letterman writer Bill Sheft hosted the evening which featured some of his wife's favorite comics… Maureen Langan, Brian Cichocki, Rose Bennett, Jeff Stison, Cory Kahaney, Patty Rosborough, and Judy Gold.

The actors in the NiCori Teen Performance Ensemble may not have spelled all the words correctly in the Corinna Sowers directed production of the Tony and Drama Desk Award winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, but they sure got everything else right last night in their performance in Montclair N.J. Humor has always been a major element of the Friars Experience and a new generation of younger comics and audiences are now becoming a part of that history. The club is bringing the brightest young comedians to the place where many jokes and laughs have been heard .The Milton Berle Room of the Friars Club.

The Alumni of the Wagner College Theatre Department kicked off a year-long celebration of their department's 50th Anniversary with a variety show at The Green Room 42 at Yotel last night and Broadwayworld was there for the extraordinary Alummni Cabaret Show.

The 92Y had a swinging start to it's Lyrics & Lyricists Series this weekend with a blockbuster show celebrating the life and music of Bobby Darin. Ted Chapin with his first undertaking as L&L producer created a fascinating and entertaining production which had many in the 92Y audience commenting 'move it to Broadway.' In fact the 5 day event had many Broadway producers in attendance as the buzz about the show travelled from 92nd street to 42 street.

Steven Maglio is having a great time and so are his audiences. The most common compliment paid to Maglio according to his web-site is, If Frank Sinatra heard the way you sing his songs he'd be proud. Steve goes on to state that he hopes that's true 'cause I'm having a great time.'

The stirring original song co-written by Anthony Nunziata is titled The Gift Is You , however the real Gift to anyone who gets turned on by a world class entertainment experience are Will & Anthony. Their cabaret act at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach had the kind of thrilling effect on the packed Royal Room audience that brought back memories of what it was like when the great acts in the golden age of nightclubs charged onto the stage of The Copacabana or Persian Room in New York City.

Don't Tell Mama but I'm sure production coordinator Desiree McKim will be telling Live at Lynn producer Jan McArt (who couldn't attend) how the audience was enthralled by Sidney's performance last night.
