Stephen is also the cabaret/ music and co-theatre editor of the Times Square Chronicles. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music. Besides being a pianist, Stephen’s business career was in the Fashion Industry. He was CEO of a textile manufacturing facility and President of an international textile machinery company. Stephen was on the Board of Directors of the “First All Children’s Theatre” which brought the Stephen Schwartz musical The Trip and Captain Louie to the Kennedy Center in Wash DC. His wife Eda, an interior space designer and classical pianist was on the Board of Barrington Stage Company and is still active at BSC. He is active in the entertainment events at the Friars Club, where he is a member, and a voting member Berkshire Theatre Critics Association. William Finn was in the house to introduce Comedian, Actress, Writer, and Broadway star Leslie Kritzer to the audience in Mr. Finn's Cabaret last night. The Berkshires answer to Feinstien's/54 Below and Birdland is housed below Barrington Stage Co's St. Germain Stage and has some of the most consummate Broadway and Cabaret stars on it's intimate stage this season. Charles Bush and Marilyn Maye are on the schedule this summer as well as Melissa Manchester on the Mainstage.
Broadway is currently celebrating the 50th year of Hello Dolly and the Folksbiene is mounting Fiddler On The Roof (in Yiddish) for its same Golden Anniversary. There were lines of folks leaving the Paulo Szot show at Feinstein's/54 Below as lines of folks were coming in to see the Luann de Lesseps show. Known as The Countess on Bravo TV's hit series 'Real Housewives of New York City' her nightclub act with always different friends has become a must see at Broadway's Supper Club. The show directed by Ben Rimalower and musically helmed by Billy Stritch.

Watching and listening to Paulo Szot is one of the most thrilling musical experiences one can have. His voice is inspirational and his physicality is powerfully compelling. In 1983 Phyllis Diller had to dress up in drag to sneak into a men's only Sid Caesar's Friars Roast. Last night women's champion Friar Gloria Allred resplendent in an attractive pants and gold jacket was escorted through the front door of The Monastery for that time-honored Friar privilege of being Roasted.
