The Sullivan County Historical Society (265 Main St. in Hurleyville, NY) will present a reading of Richard Alfieri's play SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS on April 23rd, 2pm. Michael Iannucci will reprise the role of Michael Minetti, a role he played last spring at the Ivoryton Playhouse (Broadway World nomination) and will costar Carol MacAdam as Lily Harrison. SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS brings together a Southern Baptist minister's widow who hires a former Broadway dancer to give her ballroom dancing lessons. These two people, from completely different backgrounds, find out about themselves, each other, and form an unlikely friendship in a touching, humorous way. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Historical Society. The reading is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

The Sullivan County Historical Society, Inc, was established on September 18, 1886 in order to preserve the history of Sullivan County for the enlightenment of future generations. This preservation is accomplished through the storage of historical records and documents, the acquisition of artifacts illustrative of different periods in the county's history, and the mounting of both temporary and permanent exhibits. The activities of the Society include regular meetings open to the public for the discussion of county history and broader historical questions, the careful preservation of records and artifacts, the maintenance of museum exhibits, the scheduling of educational tours, the encouragement of research, and the assisting of individuals and groups seeking specific information about aspects of county history.
