Audible Studios, a subsidiary of Amazon and the country's largest audio book producer and retailer, has announced the June 14th, 2016 release of "The Oedipus Plays: An Audible Original Drama," which will be voiced by Jamie Glover, Hayley Atwell, Michael Maloney, Samantha Bond, Julian Glover and David Horovith.

Written around 450 B.C., the Greek trilogy by Sophocles, some of the world's earliest surviving works of drama will be read in a translation by Ian Johnson, a noted scholar of ancient texts.

Collectively, OEDIPUS THE KING, OEDIPUS AT COLONUS and ANTIGONE, follow the story of Oedipus, King of Thebes, who learns from an oracle that he is destined to kill his father and marry his mother, a fate that is unavoidably fulfilled.

Jamie Glover, known for the BBC drama "Waterloo Road" and for his extensive voiceover work, plays Oedipus and Hayley Atwell, from the ABC series "Agent Carter," plays his daughter Antigone.

The cast also includes Jamie Glover's father, classical stage actor Julian Glover (Grand Maester Pycelle in HBO's "Game of Thrones") and Samantha Bond (Lady Rosamund Painswick in "Downton Abbey").Pre-orders are now being taken at Audible.
