Longtime Fundamental Theater Project supporter Alec Baldwin has purchased a significant number of tickets to FTP's annual fundraising event, which this year features Aidan Quinn, Patrick Breen, Julia Murney, Valorie Curry and FTP's artistic director Sam Underwood in two back-to-back staged readings at Symphony Space this Sunday, March 6th, starting at 3 pm.

Baldwin has requested that the tickets be distributed to international theater artists studying in New York City, in support of FTP's mission. Baldwin has been supporting FTP since its inception-performing in the company's first benefit reading in 2010, playing the Ghost in FTP's 3D Hamlet in 2011 at the Edinburgh Fringe and speaking at the 2013 celebration of the FTP's honorary patron Sir Peter Shaffer (Equus, Amadeus, Royal Hunt of the Sun).

FTP co-founder Underwood and Baldwin met while rehearsing a 2010 production of Shaffer's EQUUS, directed by Tony Walton, at East Hampton's Guild Hall. Both worked closely with Shaffer on the production, an experience Underwood has described as "humbling".

This year's gala will include a staged reading of Shaffer's short play THE PUBLIC EYE, with Aidan Quinn (Michael Collins, Practical Magic, Legends of the Fall, Broadway's A Streetcar Named Desire, and currently appearing in CBS' Elementary), Valorie Curry (The Following, Twilight, American Pastoral) and Sam Underwood (Dexter, Homeland, The Following) followed by a presentation of the Peter Shaffer Award for Emerging Excellence in Playwriting to company member and resident playwright, Ben Holbrook.

FTP will also present a matinee staged reading of Mr Holbrook's THE WHALE AND THE DOG STAR, featuring the company and special guest artists Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party) and Patrick Breen (Next Fall, The Normal Heart).
