Metamorphoses is a journey through the highs and lows of world history. Expect gods, humans, animals, and monsters as the production brings to life the ancient myths of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, reimagined for our times by three leading contemporary playwrights, and then re-imagined again by a daring company of actors and creatives. With an original text by Sami Ibrahimi, Laura Lomas, and Sabrina Mahfouz, the company has further devised the production to bring audiences its own rendition of Ovid’s eclectic collection of myths. This is deeply informed by the often fraught, chaotic, absurd, and beautiful times that we live in now. The performance brings joy and greed, love and loss, creation and destruction. It brings music, dancing, drama, and pettiness, sometimes all at the same time.
Camden People's Theatre is at Hanger Lane, London.
