Guest Blog: 'How Do You Accept What You Have Done?': Writer Katherine Moar on Truth and Fiction in Her New Play RAGDOLL
by Guest Author - October 22, 2025
My play Ragdoll takes place across two timelines. In 1978, a young American heiress is put on trial for her role in an armed bank robbery that has captivated the nation. In 2017, a disgraced celebrity lawyer calls upon a former client to help him redeem his reputation. The former really happened. The latter did not.
Review: THE UNBELIEVERS, Starring Nicola Walker
by Cindy Marcolina - October 22, 2025
Miriam’s 15-year-old son is nowhere to be found. How does a mother cope? This life-altering event buries in the cracks of their family dynamic and blows it up. Years on, with his case remaining an unsolved mystery, Miriam firmly believes he is still alive. Nick Payne returns to writing for the stage, debuting a play that’s not quite as groundbreaking as Constellations was, but that brings all the excitement of a well-executed and nimbly staged time fracture. The Unbelievers proposes three crucial moments: we see the chaos of the immediate aftermath, the lingering despair of the first anniversary of Oscar’s disappearance, and, finally, the restless hope Miriam still holds seven years later. But this isn’t a show about a missing kid.
Review: THE MAIDS, Donmar Warehouse
by Cheryl Markosky - October 22, 2025
An exhilarating new satire on social media, class and how we live in unreal worlds bursts onto the Donmar stage in a frenzy of must-see vigour. Writer/director Kip Williams – who made his West End debut with Olivier and Tony award-winning The Picture of Dorian Gray, starring Succession's Sarah Snook – returns with his bang up-to-date adaptation of Jean Genet's play based on sisters Christine and Lea Papin, who murdered their employer and her daughter in 1933.

Guest Blog: Writer Eloise Pennycott on Politics, Dystopia and Metatheatre in Her Play BARRIER(S)
by Guest Author - October 20, 2025
As a deaf twenty-year-old whose main aim is to find the happy in every corner of life, I often struggle to engage with politics – especially those concerning disability rights. When I was a young teen I was much more actively engaged, speaking in parliament, contributing to campaigns, very much considering a career in that direction. I tired of that quite quickly, but have since found my political spark reignited, using theatre writing as an outlet instead. My love story Barrier(s) is the latest outcome, and I am very excited to see it off on tour.

Review: FANNY, King's Head Theatre
by Franco Milazzo - October 17, 2025
In Calum Finlay’s Fanny, sibling rivalry and musical history occasionally seem barely more than mere pretexts for a superlative slice of Mischief-adjacent tomfoolery. When Fanny Mendelssohn finds out that not only is one of her works a favourite of Queen Victoria but her brother Felix is taking credit for it, the enraged composer begins a madcap journey from Berlin to Buckingham Palace to set the record straight.
