The wit, romance and intrigues of the characters of the world of The Importance of Being Earnest will give you a delightful escape into the world of Victorian society. Because it is being performed by Virtual Repertory Theatre Collective it also has several twists, fabulous backgrounds and of course, romance.
One of our favorite things in working with scripts that are considered theatrical classics is that we always find a way to bring contemporary views to our characters while still honoring the piece. We’ve aimed to take these, in some cases extremely outdated views of women, portrayals of relationship and gender and give them a VRTC update. We pride ourselves on being a female-friendly environment and integrating our progressive ideas with our artistic work.”- Kari Kitts, Artistic Director.
This virtual theatre show is the perfect treat for yourself, for a date night or even a great gift for Mothers Day. If you cant be with your mom what better way to spend the day than by enjoying a fun show and chatting about it afterward, tea and cucumber sandwiches optional.
“While Its perfectly easy to be cynical after more than a year indoors, VRTC invites the question what if we were all just a little more earnest with the ones we love? The humor and charm of this classic story are terrific restoratives for a world-weary spirit, so roughly three weeks after this initial exposure we strongly encourage you to get your second dose and schedule your appointment for the show.”- Mitchell Macdonald, Co-Director.

The Virtual Repertory Theatre Collective was founded on December 29, 2020. We’re a fully virtual, bicoastal theatre company. We exist to provide a safe place for performers to work, to empower actors with creative input and to use the new technology tools to deliver art to the people. We are interested in challenging the status quo for what it means to be a theatre, how actors choose their work and what theatre in the 21st century looks like.
