The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra opens its 2025 season with a concert celebrating love in its many forms, conducted by Music Director Christopher Zimmerman. The program features the Regional Premiere of Clarice Assad's ANAHATA, a concerto for classical guitar and cello performed by the duo Boyd Meets Girl, which consists of Rupert Boyd and Laura Metcalf. The evening also includes beloved excerpts from operatic and symphonic works, such as Maurice Jarre's score from Doctor Zhivago and Puccini's Intermezzo from Suor Angelica, weaving a rich tapestry of musical expressions of love. Boyd Meets Girl will participate in a pre-concert talk to share insights about their performance and the new piece.
