Cast and Creative Team for The Little Mermaid at Surrey Arts Centre

Cast

Teru Widman
Ensemble
Celebrating 10 years with RCTC, Teru has squeaked as a Mouse (Cinderella), flopped as a Fish Footman (Alice in Wonderland), and thrashed about as the Thorn Monster in Knotted! Over the past decade, he’s loved being part of so many wonderful productions and sharing the stage with such talented, creative, and endlessly funny people. Performing in RCTC’s pantomimes has been a true highlight — full of laughter, teamwork, and the occasional bit of chaos. He couldn’t be happier to be back again this year and sends huge thanks to the cast, crew, and audience for their amazing support!
Tiffany Chan
Ensemble
Tiffany is delighted to be performing in her fourth pantomime with Royal Canadian Theatre Company! Previous credits include Louise in Crazy For You (Royal City Musical Theatre), Watcher #1 in The Black Hole (Youth Engagement Theatre Project), Olga and others in Bells are Ringing (Confidential Music Project), and Lulu in Cabaret (Curtain Call Players). She is the lead vocalist for The Spectacles. Tiffany earned a diploma in Musical Theatre from Randolph College for the Performing Arts. She would like to thank her family and friends for being encouraging and supportive in her creative pursuits!
Tristan Guilbault
Ensemble
For about 3 years now, I have discovered that musicals are more than characters singing about what they ate for breakfast that day. I quickly fell in love with the art, taking up the roles of mafia bosses, weird talking insects and giant mice 👁️👄👁️
Zoah Haveliwalla
Ensemble
Zoah is looking forward to her third year of pantomimes with the Royal Canadian Theatre Company. You might have seen her in previous RCTC productions Knotted: Rapunzel’s Story or as one of the three mice in Cinderella. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and art. Zoah would like to thank her family for supporting and encouraging her. This year she has also joined her high school theatre club. She is excited to continue acting in pantomimes and other theater performances in the future.
Bir Btaalvi
King Triton/Ensemble
Bir Btaalvi is a Punjabi-Canadian actor, writer, and theater artist, and a graduate of the Theater Department at Douglas College. His recent stage credits include Steve in Wild Abandon, Mewa in Mewa Singh Lopoke, and Akash in Sikligar. As a writer-director, he has created the acclaimed plays Mewa Singh Lopoke and Sikligar, both produced under Navrasa Theater Arts, where he also serves as Artistic Director. Known for his socially rooted storytelling, Bir continues to explore themes of identity, migration, and belonging through theater that bridges cultures and generations.
Crystal Weltzin
Ursula
Crystal grew up watching Traditional pantomimes and now is very excited to play Ursula. You may have seen Crystal as Natalie: We Don’t Talk About Book Club (RCTC), Candice: How to Survive the Apocalypse Without Really Trying (Capricorn Theatre Prod), Pixie Princess: Knotted (RCTC), or Fluellen: Henry V (Pacific Theatre). She would also like to thank her husband for his endless patience during this process, especially as she would giggle, tell and retell the terrible jokes she wrote. Hopefully the fishy she’s carrying enjoyed the journey too. Thank you to everyone who made this show wonderful! Enjoy the show!
Emma Blu Pabuaya
Debris
Emma Blu is a Vancouver based interdisciplinary artist and creative. Having recently graduated from the Costuming for Stage and Screen program at Capilano University, she now continues to pursue her passion for theatre and film in both acting and costumes. Her costumes have been seen in several productions such as The Wizard of Oz with CTORA, Twelfth Night with Capilano University, and most recently she designed puppets and costumes for Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors with DSR Productions. She is so excited to have joined such an incredible team with Royal Canadian Theatre Company for her very first panto!
Statia Benny
Detritus
Statia is a Vancouver based theatre artist. She’s a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts in her hometown of Victoria, where she completed their three year multidisciplinary intensive program, honing skills in acting, singing, and dance. Last year, Statia performed in Broadway themed dining experiences in restaurants as part of a trio, where she loved getting to perform while interacting directly with audiences. She’s looking forward to creating more interactive theatre events of that nature in the future. Recent stage credits include Heathers: The Musical (Sherwood Theatre), The Wizard of Oz (CTORA), and Matilda: The Musical (TUTS).
Juliet Logan
Prince Eric
Juliet is ecstatic to be a part of this fabulous Panto, The Little Mermaid. Juliet is a graduate of Capilano university’s Acting for Stage and Screen program. You may have seen her in The Royal Canadians Theatre Company’s Pantomime, Cinderella, where she played the principal boy, Prince Charming. She played the lead nun, Mary, in Sisters (Langley Little Theatre), and Michelle in Cheaters (RCTC). Juliet constantly finds herself gravitating towards the comedic roles, as they are an outlet for her to let loose, and this show, along with being a musical, is a perfect way for her to be herself.
Cayleigh Elcheshen
Bisque
Cayleigh has been dancing and performing her whole life and is excited to be taking on her second year of choreography with Illya Mulji for RCTC. Past credits include Alice in Alice in Wonderland (RCTC) and Phoebe in As You Like It (Shadows & Dreams). She’s had a wonderful time with the cast and crew and can’t think of a better way to spend her holiday season. Enjoy the show!
Stephen Elcheshen
Chef Phishandchips
Stephen bounces between acting and fight choreography for several companies around the lower mainland. Recent roles include Malvolio in Twelfth Night (Shadows & Dreams) Arthur, Sir Bors, and half the other characters in Spamalot (White Rock), and Dennis in The Play That Goes Wrong (G7). As always, he'd like to thank his family for their love and support.
Tallya Lalonde
Vanessa
Tallya is so excited to be working with RCTC for the very first time! She started in pantomimes with FVMT 2 years ago playing ‘Betty’ in Puss in Boots and most recently ‘Rapunzel’ in Rapunzel: The Panto. She has always wanted to tackle a role as a villain and is thrilled to finally have the opportunity! She hopes you enjoy the show as much as she has enjoyed the opportunity to express her evil side. Sea you on the stage!
