Η Φιλανθρωπική Οργάνωση Broadway League ανακοίνωσε τους 116 υποψήφιους που θα ταξιδέψουν στην πόλη της Νέας Υόρκης για να συμμετάσχουν στην 17η ετήσια τελετή των βραβείων Jimmy και να διαγωνιστούν για κορυφαία βραβεία και πολλές άλλες υποτροφίες. Ο πέντε φορές υποψήφιος για Emmy, κωμικός, ηθοποιός, συγγραφέας και οικοδεσπότης podcast Bowen Yang θα φιλοξενήσει την τελετή που θα πραγματοποιηθεί τη Δευτέρα, 22 Ιουνίου 2026, στο θέατρο Minskoff στο Broadway.
Τα βραβεία Jimmy είναι η εθνική παρουσίαση ταλέντων που γιορτάζει τους μαθητές του μουσικού θεάτρου από τα γυμνάσια σε όλη τη χώρα και περιλαμβάνει δυναμικές ομαδικές και σόλο παραστάσεις. Κάθε συμμετέχουσα περιοχή απονέμει κορυφαία βραβεία σε δύο τοπικούς μαθητές ερμηνευτές και υποστηρίζει τα ταξίδια τους στη Νέα Υόρκη για να συμμετάσχουν στα βραβεία Jimmy στις 22 Ιουνίου. Στην τελετή των βραβείων Jimmy, μια επιτροπή κριτών θα απονείμει βραβεία και υποτροφίες, περιλαμβανομένων των βραβείων για την Καλύτερη Ερμηνεία από Αρσενικό και την Καλύτερη Ερμηνεία από Θηλυκό.
Τα βραβεία Jimmy συγχαίρουν τους παραλήπτες του 2026 INSPIRING TEACHER AWARD, που παρουσιάζεται από την MJ, τα οποία τιμούν εκπαιδευτικούς που παρέχουν πολύτιλη καθοδήγηση και ενθάρρυνση στους μαθητές και τις σχολικές τους κοινότητες. Οι τιμώμενοι προτάθηκαν για αυτή την αναγνώριση την περασμένη άνοιξη από τους υποψήφιους των βραβείων Jimmy 2025 και στη συνέχεια επιλέχθηκαν από μια επιτροπή μελών της Οργάνωσης Broadway League. Οι παραλήπτες αυτής της χρονιάς είναι η Kristy Kosko, Greece Arcadia High School (Stars of Tomorrow, Rochester, NY) και ο Peter Smeallie, Albert Einstein High School (Brandon Victor Dixon Awards, Washington, D.C.).
