La Fundación de la Liga de Broadway ha revelado los 116 nominados que viajarán a Nueva York para participar en la 17ª ceremonia anual de los Premios Jimmy y competir por los máximos honores y numerosas otras becas. El comediante, actor, escritor y anfitrión de podcast nominado a cinco premios Emmy, Bowen Yang, será el anfitrión de la ceremonia que tendrá lugar el lunes 22 de junio de 2026 en el Teatro Minskoff en Broadway.
Los Premios Jimmy son una vitrina nacional de talento que celebra a los estudiantes de teatro musical de secundaria de todo el país y presenta dinámicas actuaciones en solitario y en conjunto. Cada programa regional de premios otorga los máximos honores a dos estudiantes intérpretes locales y patrocina su viaje a Nueva York para participar en los Premios Jimmy el 22 de junio. En la ceremonia de los Premios Jimmy, un panel de jueces otorgará premios y becas, incluidos los premios a la Mejor Actuación por un Actor y la Mejor Actuación por una Actriz.
Los Premios Jimmy felicitan a los receptores del Premio al Maestro Inspirador 2026, presentado por MJ, que honra a los educadores por brindar orientación y aliento valiosos a sus estudiantes y comunidades escolares. Los homenajeados fueron nominados para este reconocimiento la primavera pasada por los nominados a los Premios Jimmy 2025 y seleccionados posteriormente por un comité de miembros de la Liga de Broadway. Los receptores de este año son Kristy Kosko, de Greece Arcadia High School (Stars of Tomorrow, Rochester, NY) y Peter Smeallie, de Albert Einstein High School (Brandon Victor Dixon Awards, Washington, D.C.).
