A Fundação Broadway League revelou os 116 indicados que viajarão para a cidade de Nova York para participar da 17ª cerimônia anual dos Prêmios Jimmy e competir por grandes honrarias e diversas outras bolsas de estudo. O comediante, ator, escritor e apresentador de podcast indicado ao Emmy cinco vezes Bowen Yang será o anfitrião da cerimônia que ocorrerá na segunda-feira, 22 de junho de 2026, no Minskoff Theatre na Broadway.
Os Prêmios Jimmy são uma vitrine de talentos nacional que celebra estudantes de teatro musical do ensino médio de todo o país e apresenta performances dinâmicas de conjuntos e solos. Cada Programa Regional de Prêmios concede honrarias a dois estudantes locais e patrocina sua viagem a Nova York para participar dos Prêmios Jimmy no dia 22 de junho. Na cerimônia dos Prêmios Jimmy, um painel de jurados concederá prêmios e bolsas de estudo, incluindo os prêmios para Melhor Performance de um Ator e Melhor Performance de uma Atriz.
Os Prêmios Jimmy congratulam os recipientes do PRÊMIO PROFESSOR INSPIRADOR 2026, apresentado por MJ, que homenageia educadores por fornecer orientações valiosas e encorajamento a seus alunos e comunidades escolares. Os homenageados foram indicados para este reconhecimento na primavera de 2025 por indicados ao Prêmio Jimmy e selecionados posteriormente por um comitê de membros da Broadway League. Os recipientes deste ano são Kristy Kosko, Greece Arcadia High School (Stars of Tomorrow, Rochester, NY) e Peter Smeallie, Albert Einstein High School (Brandon Victor Dixon Awards, Washington, D.C.).
