Tomson Highway's The Rez Sisters, directed by Jessica Carmichael, arrives at Soulpepper on the heels of the play's 40th anniversary. Set on the fictional Wasaychigan Hill Indian Reserve, the play follows seven Ojibway women — played by Brefny Caribou, Nicole Joy-Fraser, Grace Lamarche, Trina Moyan, PJ Prudat, Tara Sky, Star Slade, and Montana Summers — who dream of hitting the jackpot at Toronto's biggest bingo. What begins as a road trip becomes a journey of friendship, survival, and the dreams we dare to keep alive, cementing the play's place as a landmark of the Canadian theatre canon.
