A Non-Canonical Musical Adventure with Pookamhura: Mistress of B-Roll is a new Canadian musical that blends live performance, original songs, and animated projections inspired by MMORPG gameplay. A random party of online gamers gathers in a virtual dungeon, where Pookamhura, a mischievous gnome rogue inspired by Shakespeare's Puck, stirs chaos and connection as personal truths emerge among the players. The production was first developed and premiered at the 2025 Hamilton Fringe Festival and was created by composer Chris Cracknell during the pandemic as a YouTube series before evolving into a live performance. It is presented as part of the 2026 Toronto Fringe Festival at a satellite venue operated by the Alliance of Canadian Musicals, showcasing eight new original works by Canadian composers and playwrights.
