Stages St. Louis Names Merry L. Mosbacher New Board President

STAGES ST. LOUIS, the region's foremost not-for-profit musical theatre company and performing arts academy which will celebrate its 25th anniversary season next year, has named Merry L. Mosbacher, Principal-Insurance Marketing at Edward Jones, President of its Board of Trustees for 2011.

Other incoming Board officers include: Kathy Higgins, President, Sachs Properties, will serve as Vice President; Lisa Nichols, Chief Executive Officer, Technology Partners, will serve as an Associate Vice President; and Craig W. Conway, Executive Vice President of Lindell Bank, will be Treasurer. Newly appointed Trustees include Kristy Jackson, Gifted Program Instructor, Conway Elementary and Founder and Senior Consultant, Dreamkatchers; and Dr. Gwendolyn Packnett, Director - Office of Multicultural Affairs and Student Affairs, University of Missouri, St. Louis.

After 24 years of success, it was important that we have someone with the vision and creativity to continue the progress we have made," said Jack Lane, Executive Producer of STAGES ST. LOUIS. "I am confident that Merry will be a dynamic leader to help us meet those ongoing challenges."

Artistic Director Michael Hamilton further commented: "For many years, Merry has been a fierce arts advocate. Her dedication to maintaining STAGES commitment to excellence has been exhibited by her countless volunteer hours on the Board and, along with her husband Jim, her very generous monetary gifts as production sponsor. I am personally very grateful to Merry for her unconditional support throughout the years and am certain that with her leadership on the Board, STAGES can look forward to another glowing quarter century of providing the very best in musical theatre and education in the St. Louis area."

"I look forward along with the Board's new executive team and trustees to helping take STAGES to even greater heights of success in the next few years." The new Board will convene in January and new appointments will remain in effect through December, 2011.

In 2011, STAGES will celebrate its 25th year with A Chorus Line, The Secret Garden, Victor/Victoria and Disney's 101 Dalmatians. In its 25-year history, STAGES has entertained over 800,000 patrons with 82 productions and over 2,600 performances. The recipient of twenty Kevin Kline Awards over the past five years, including three awards for Outstanding Production of a Musical, STAGES has become the leading company for musical theatre performance and education in the Midwest.
