The Municipal Ballet of Lima returns to the scene with an exotic piece inspired by India of the seventeenth century. "La Bayadere" is a story of love and hate created by Marius Petipa with music by Ludwig Minkus that narrates the misfortune of Nikiya, a dancer of love temple Solor, a warrior nobility who promises eternal love. However, his forgetfulness trigger a tragic end.
It premiered in Lima in 2001 and then recovered in 2008, achieving a good review by the public. This work shows a series of interpretive features in its central characters, and has one of the most beautiful sequences created for a corps de ballet, "The kingdom of shadows" where the ghost of a murdered Nikiya is multiplied.
Nikiya, will be performed by the dancers Marber Llorens, Grace Cobian and Solange Villacorta, who will also be challenging Gamzatti with Viviana Gutierrez and Luciana Cardenas. The role of Solor fall in Frederick Ayllon and Rodrigo Blanco Pérez.
