Cape Town City Ballet presents Orpheus in the Underworld, a comedic ballet choreographed by Veronica Paeper and set in the stylish 1920s, featuring sets and costumes by Peter Cazalet with audio visual effects by Kirsti Cumming. Inspired by Jacques Offenbach's comic operetta, the production features an orchestral arrangement by Michael Tuffin performed by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra under Brandon Phillips. The cast is led by Leusson Muniz, Axton Green, and Caesar Elsner as Orpheus, with Kirstél Paterson, Hannah Ward, and Isabella Blair alternating as Eurydice, and Zachary Healy, Axton Green, and Leusson Muniz as Pluto. Former CTCB principals Laura Bösenberg and Johnny Bovang appear as guest artists, with theatre actor Gregan Aherin as Offenbach.
