Opera UCT presents Mozart's Don Giovanni, a fully staged production directed by Talia Stern and conducted by Jeremy Silver and Peggy Wu, with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. Don Giovanni seduces, deceives and discards women without conscience, and when one of his conquests leads to murder, a sinister force pursues him toward reckoning. The opera moves between dark tragedy and comedy, sung in Italian with English and isiXhosa subtitles. The production contains descriptions of sexual assault.
