Making Wine in Scotland is a dystopian love story that explores how capitalism and climate change are inextricably linked, set against a backdrop where a killer virus is destroying all the trees and a group of scientists and engineers have been brought together by a billionaire to find a cure. Written and directed by Ter Hollman, the post-apocalyptic three-man show is by turns darkly comic, bitingly satirical, romantic, hopeful, and despairing. The play premiered at the 2024 National Arts Festival where it became a word-of-mouth hit. It questions the extent to which the rich are willing to go in their quest for wealth, often at the expense of the underprivileged and the planet itself.
