20th Century Studios has shared the first look images of the cast of the upcoming film adaptation of West Side Story!

Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Hedwig and the Angry Inch will run January 28 - March 8, 2020 in the Stiemke Studio.  Matt Rodin will perform the title character Hedwig with Rep favorite Bethany Thomas (Songs for Nobodies, Milwaukee Rep) as Yitzhak.

West Side Story is now in previews on Broadway. The new production is directed by Tony Award winner Ivo van Hove; and for the first time ever in the United States, will feature all-new choreography by the internationally acclaimed Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. West Side Story will open on February 6th, 2020 at the Broadway Theatre.

Broadway vets, Danette Holden, who was last seen in Sacramento as Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone and in New York City in the acclaimed Off-Broadway production of Cagney, the Musical and Kevin Csolak, currently in Ivo Van Hove's new West Side Story as Arab hitting the Broadway stage December 10th in previews and who just completed shooting Steven Spielberg's reboot of West Side Story as Diesel hosted the 2019 Stangl Stage Cabaret, Hunterdon's Brightest, Home for the Holidays charity event this past Saturday, November 30th at the historic Stangl Stage.

The Broadway musical is finally coming to Oslo and on September 16, 2020, it is ready for Norwegian premiere at Chateau Neuf! The true story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. It will star Atle Pettersen, Nicolay Ramm, Mathias Luppichini and Sindre Postholm. The production will be directed by Tore Sergei Myklebust and choreographed by Kirsty McDonald (Flashdance - The Musical). Hans Einar Apelland will serve as Musical Director and stage design and costumes by Takis.

'I've had several Japanese people come up to me before and say, 'This is our story.' They were an older married couple, and I thought, 'Oh? This is a New York story, why do you say that?' And they said, 'Because, back in the late 50s early 60s, our villages were feuding, and they wouldn't allow us to marry. So there was this tension, but seeing the movie in 1961 made us say, 'Let's do it!' And we eloped.'

I had the privilege of interviewing Robin de Levita, mastermind of the 360 StageAround technology, about coming to Japan and why he felt it was important to create a new live theater experience for the world. The most inspiring thing he told me was that Arts Education deserves support and respect from the government. The impact of theater on our youth is huge! 'When kids come to the theater, their phones are switched off. The lights go down. The performance is life and alive. The impact is huge.' The Steven Spielberg-directed West Side Story film has officially wrapped production! Amblin, the production company behind the adaptation, shared pictures from the set along with a letter from Spielberg.
