Tony Award winner John Rubinstein, who made his Broadway debut and received a Theater World Award for creating the title role in the original 1972 production of Pippin, will join the all-new Tony Award winning production of Pippin in the role of 'Charles.' Mr. Rubinstein will play a limited engagement. He was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, but instead, he will start tonight, June 19, and run until Sunday, July 27, 2014 He is filling in for Terrance Mann's leave of absence. Pippin is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was presented earlier this week in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a live 12-piece orchestra. PIPPIN's Charlotte d'Amboise and Terrance Mann are set to host 'Broadway's Best in Drag' with Robert La Fosse to benefit AIDS Service Center NYC. 'Broadway's Best in Drag' will take place on Monday, June 9th at The Abrons Art Center (446 Grand Street) with open bar and raffle prizes.

Yesterday at 88 Madison Avenue, the cast of Pippin celebrated the show's new partnership with Carlton Hotel with a live performance, nail art painting provided by Caravan Stylist Studio and circus-inspired refreshments provided by the Carlton hotel. The Carlton hotel's new PIPPIN the Musical Package will be available starting January, running through March 2014. The package includes overnight luxury accommodations, tickets to PIPPIN, cocktails at restaurant Millesime and a CD soundtrack from the show.
