SILENCE! THE MUSICAL is a 2005 musical created by Jon and Al Kaplan and Hunter Bell as a parody of the 1991 Academy Award-winning film The Silence of the Lambs. The project began in 2003 as an internet musical made up of nine songs that retold the entire story. The audio tracks became so popular that a stage production was conceived and mounted. The show has received awards and accolades including Outstanding Musical (New York International Fringe Festival), Best New Musical (Off Broadway Alliance), and Top Ten Plays and Musicals (Time Magazine). This production from Doctuh Mistuh Productions is a remount of their 2014 B. Iden Payne award winning Best Musical production. It also won B. Iden Payne Awards for Best Actress and Best Director

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary August 12 - 28, 2016. This year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. With attendance topping 75,000 people, FringeNYC is New York City's fifth largest event (just behind New York International Auto Show, Tribeca Film Festival, New York City Marathon, and New York Comic Con).

After its successful run in 2014, Doctuh Mistuh Productions will be bringing SILENCE! THE MUSICAL back to Austin, Texas for a three week run, August 18 through September 4. DMP will be remounting the revival at Austin Playhouse in Highland Mall. Amy Downing will be reprising her award-winning performance as Clarice Starling. She will be joined by original cast members Huck Huckaby (Hannibal), David Ponton (Buffalo Bill), Libby Dees Detling (Catherine & Senator Martin), and Matt Connely (Papa Schtarling). New cast members include Andrew Cannata (Dr. Chilton), Scott Shipman (Jack Crawford), Jessica O'Brien (Ardelia Mapp), Kathryn Lane (Dream Clarice) and Brian DeFilippo (Dream Hannibal). The production will be stage and music directed by DMP Artistic Director Michael McKelvey.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO, Kate Maguire presents Tennessee Williams' classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof featuring Michael Raymond-James as Brick. Michael Raymond-James starred in NBC's recent series, Game of Silence and is best known for his featured roles in True Blood and Once Upon a Time. His films include Black Snake Moan with Justin Timberlake and Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof runs from June 22 through July 16, at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage in Stockbridge, MA.

With direction by Chris Patton, music direction by Eduardo Guzman, choreography by Eric Dano and assistant direction and stage management by Lauren Hainley, the production begins today, June 9, and continues through June 25, 2016.

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis will be hosting a fascinating community conversation featuring Bradley Reynolds, Producer of the Broadway smash Hand to God, and Bryan Fonseca, Producing Director of the Phoenix Theatre.  This unique event will reveal the methods and effort required to produce a hit Broadway show, the process of recapturing that success regionally, and the remarkable journey from one venue to the other. This community conversation will take place directly following the performance of Hand to God on Sunday, June 26, 2016, on the Livia and Steve Russell Stage.
