San Francisco's acclaimed Merola Opera Program, one of the most prestigious and selective opera training programs in the world, launches its 61st season offering audiences a look at the opera stars of tomorrow. Some of opera's greatest moments will come to life as Merola's young artists perform staged scenes from Vanessa, Il tabarro, Les pecheurs de perles, and Don Giovanni in the Schwabacher Summer Concert.

BLOOMINGDALE SCHOOL OF MUSIC PRESENTS Transcendental Heart Strings  a FREE Concert featuring Cellist Margalit Cantor, Soprano Katherine Copland & Pianist Marc Peloquin Friday, June 22, 2018 @ 7 PM   New York, New York - Bloomingdale School of Music's Free Faculty Concert Series closes out the season with Transcendental Heart Strings on Friday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm at the school's home site located at 323 West 108th Street. Seating is limited. BSM faculty members Margalit Cantor, Katherine Copland, and Marc Peloquin collaborate on a concert showcasing repertoire written specifically to compliment the duo of cello and voice with piano. Performing the works of great composers from Francesco Paolo Tosti to Andre Previn, the recital will highlight compositions through the ages written for this stunning combination. This promises to be a transcendent program that will surely pull on the heart-strings of its listeners.

Noted American conductor and MCS Music Director Jason Tramm will begin the Morris Choral Society's 45th Season Finale with the exquisite music of Gabriel Faure's Requiem in d minor, Op. 48 in a concert entitled “Rebirth and Renewal: A Celebration of Spring” Saturday May 12th at 8PM at the historic Methodist Church on the Green in Morristown, New Jersey. The concert program will continue with works by noted contemporary composers Ola Gjeilo, Gwyneth Walker, Dan Forrest and Morten Lauridsen, as well as renown 20th century composers Samuel Barber and Randall Thompson.

Established to perform intimate and unique opera performances, Opera180 is launching its 2018 season with the highly interactive production of Bon Operatit. Performing at the Squeezebox Theatre on April 27-29, this exciting event will consist of three parts including composer Lee Hoiby's Bon Appetit based on Julia Child, a cooking demonstration by a local KC chef, and Jennifer Jolley's Krispy Kremes and Butter Queens inspired by the colorful Paula Deen.

Riverside Opera Company, presents "Super Voices" Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m. at the Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, Staten Island.  Singing favorite opera and pop music pieces are four winners of open auditions held this past February that drew over 50 performers to midtown Manhattan. The singers are accompanied by a full symphony orchestra conducted by Maestro Alan Aurelia and  special guest artists from the Curtis and Susan Wagner High School Choruses.

The 2018 McCammon Voice Competition judges have chosen the semi-finalists for the eighteenth biennial competition, to be held on March 16, 2018 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The Verdi Chorus celebrates its 35th anniversary with its Spring 2018 concert The Force of Destiny for two performances only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on April 28 and 29 led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum. As the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus, their program will feature selections from three Verdi operas - La forza del destino, Nabucco, including the famed chorus "Va, pensiero," the opening party scene of La traviata, and conclude with beloved melodies from Strauss' Die Fledermaus.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) announced today the winners of the 30th annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers that took place at Stude Concert Hall at Rice University. For the second time, the Concert of Arias was streamed live on Facebook, as well as on YouTube for the first time.
